As founder of MMP Chris works with his team in developing marketing strategies across media channels to help businesses engage with their precise target audience. While a junior in college at the University of Southern Maine his career in media began as a Multimedia Journalist at the NBC affiliate in Portland, Maine, the leading news station in the market.
His interest in marketing later led him to years working as an Advertising Executive for some of the country's largest and most diversified media companies in the country including Tegna, Sinclair Broadcast Group and Cox Media Group. His audience first approach to media planning, passion for studying how people engage with media and brands, and insight from working on hundreds of omnichannel campaigns makes him an invaluable asset for any business looking to strengthen their advertising investments.
Chris also teaches ethics in advertising at the University of Southern Maine and when he's not working you can find him traveling (often places where there are palm trees and beaches) with his wife Elise, and exploring the coast of Maine with his dog, Bella.
Hailing from upstate NY, Matty has made his home in Maine in a roundabout way – a career aboard sailing ships and racing yachts. Though he had never sailed growing up, he was constantly drawing their likeness, along with many other scenes. Having also studied classical violin from the age of 4, the arts have always been in his blood. Though after 15 years at sea, he wanted to grow roots, and no place fit the bill quite like Portland, Maine.
After a year running the nonprofit Tall Ships Portland, he took on the role of Media Manager for Shipyard Brewing Company, along with other freelance roles. It was here he met Chris at a meeting with a mutual client, and the two realized they had very similar ideas about turning the industry on its head and doing business in a whole new way. Soon after, Matty came aboard as Creative Director and Partner at MMP, and together they intend to break down the dusty framework that has surrounded advertising, and help clients reach their audience in ways they never imagined. When he’s not in front of a computer, Matty enjoys standing sideways; whether it be on water or snow. He still loves a good day sailing.
